India vs Bangladesh 2024: BAN wicketkeeper-batter urges to shift focus on upcoming IND tour, advises against getting fixated on Pakistan series

New Delhi: Bangladesh’s star wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has shifted the focus from the team’s historic Test series victory against Pakistan to their upcoming challenge against India. Das has urged the media to look ahead as Bangladesh is set to travel to India on September 15 for two Test matches and three T20Is.

Speaking at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Litton Das highlighted the importance of moving on from Bangladesh’s historic win over Pakistan.

“Obviously, very important (to leave the Pakistan series behind) and you (media) also need to help a bit. It would be better if you don’t talk too much about the Pakistan series,” quoted by Cricbuzz.

Test series against India at their home soil will be tough challenge for Bangladesh. Litton acknowledged India’s strength at home. “When we play India at their home, they are always the better side. I wouldn’t say it will be extremely challenging or very easy. They are a very good team in their own conditions.”

Litton is one of the experienced players in Bangladesh’s squad, have recognized his importance in the side. “I’ve been playing cricket for 10 years, so I do have some experience. Now is the time to take responsibility.”

commenting on his playing style, Litton explained, “It’s not like I play very attacking cricket. I try to score from the balls which seem like they are in the scoring zone to me.”

Adjusting to the SG ball in India will be one of the major obstacles for Bangladesh, unlike the Kookaburra ball they are accustomed to.

Litton said, “India is a big team and the ball will also change. We rarely play with that ball. It will be challenging.”

The upcoming series against India is eagerly awaited, with Bangladesh looking to capitalize on the confidence they gained from their win against Pakistan. Litton Das and his team are determined to carry that positive momentum into the two Tests and three T20Is.
